Know before you go

• Horse trails are multiuse; all other trails are hiking and biking.
• Trails may close for sensitive areas or bad weather; call or check the park's social feeds.
• Scheduled hunt closures (permitted hunters only), as posted 2026-10-28: 8pm Nov 20 to noon Nov 24; 8pm Jan 11 to noon Jan 15.
• Burn ban in effect as of Oct 23, 2026 (no wood or charcoal fires); water-conservation alert from July 2026.
• Pets on leashes of 6 ft or less in Texas state parks.

Guadalupe River State Park has four miles of frontage on the Guadalupe River and around 13 miles of trails that are open to hikers and cyclists. Most are short, easy to moderate loops through prairie and oak savannah, the longest being about three miles. The separate Bauer Unit day-use area has moderate to challenging trails and a longer route downhill toward the river. It suits families, casual runners and relaxed mountain biking.
